The Peninsula is the most historical hotel in Hong Kong and was first opened in 1928. Since then , the hotel underwent extensive renovation with the addition of a tower in 1994 which made it one of Hong Kong's most classic and long hailed as one of the finest hotels in the entire world. Created in the glamorous 1920s, it has long been called the legendary "Grande Dame of the Far East" as it continues to set standards worldwide for the best of Eastern and Western atmosphere. The The Peninsula is Hong Kong's oldest hotel and what might be the only historic hotel in the area.

The The Peninsula is located at the junction of Nathan Road and Salisbury Road in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. This is founded by the Kadoorie family but the hotel today is part of the Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels group under Sir Michael Kadoorie. Today, it has 300 rooms, 7 restaurants and 1 bar. It is probably the most expensive and the last colonial hotel in the area and only those who are willing to pay several thousand US dollars more per night can enjoy its exclusive suites. Its Peninsula's presidential suite is extremely superb as CIA and MI5 security specifications are adhered to here, while it stays stuck between two floors of guest rooms.

The Peninsula Hong Kong is located overlooking the harbor Tsim Sha Tsui with the shopping mecca of Kowloon and its business and entertainment district just nearby. The hotel is also close to Hong Kong's underground railway system (MTR), the historic Star Ferry, and the China Ferry Terminal and Railway Station. The hotel is also near to Hong Kong's most famous cultural attractions like the Cultural Center, Hong Kong Museum of Art, as well as the Hong Kong Space Museum. But even if this hotel is located faraway, you still wouldn’t worry for convenient transport. The hotel has a celebrated fleet of Rolls-Royce limousines with The Peninsula's helicopter shuttle service from the rooftop helipad. This hotel guests luxurious transportation from Hong Kong International Airport and around Hong Kong is offered to the hotel’s guests.

The limousines can be hired by guests and are painted a distinctive shade of green known as "Peninsula green". For the choppers, the twin helipads give hotel guests quick and easy access destinations around the territory. Their Aero-Spatiale AS355N Twin Squirrel craft can carry four passengers and is available for "flight-seeing" trips. Flights can be negotiated with the Concierge. This facility has a separate elevator and The China Clipper, a private lounge with reception and communications. This Peninsula's helicopter shuttle service and rooftop helipad  is the only one at a hotel in Hong Kong. Through it, guests can arrive at The Peninsula without going through the Lobby of the hotel.
